Hurricane Katrina and Rita Five Years Later
Hurricane Katrina and Rita make landfall in late 2005 and became one of the most destructive disasters in United States' History.Now, Five years later, 2,219 habitat houses have been built in the U.S. Gulf Coast Region, and Habitat's recovery efforts continue.
. World Habitat Day is October 4, 2010.
The most significantly and widely recognized Habitat for Humanity annual event, The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project, will celebrate World Habitat Day in 2010 by calling attention to the need for affordable housing in the United States and around the world. This is Habitat's 27th annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project!

Restore New Summer Hours
Did you know that the ReStore has new summer hours? We are open on Fridays, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm in addition to our regular Saturday hours, 8:30 am to 12 noon.
Teen Works
Teen Works is a staffing agency for 14-18 year olds that helps teenagers better their selves in the workplace. There are currently three teens involved with Habitat for Humanity of Fairfield County. Over the past several years, Habitat has partnered with TW and mentored with 6-8 teens.
Summer's program for young adults, to get jobs for the summer through Job & Family Services. There are currently two teens involved with Habitat for Humanity of Fairfield County. With both of the above work programs Habitat for Humanity of Fairfield County seek to offer the adolescent, opportunities to "Pick up the Hammer", form a Partnership, create Nurturing Environments, assist in developing skills in Community Leadership and Teamwork, by helping us to help others realize their dream of home ownership.
For juniors that attend Fisher Catholic High School, they have to do a service project. With 30 service hours required. Currently there is one teen involved with Habitat for Humanity of Fairfield County.
