Habitat for Humanity of Fairfield County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International,
a nonprofit, Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses are then sold to those in need
at no interest charged.
Volunteers provide a majority of the labor. Individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor -"sweat equity"-
into building their homes and homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity, which is used to build more houses.
We are always looking for help and contributions. We understand that the current economic crisis makes monetary contributions challenging. However, there are many ways you can help! We can use volunteers for our
job sites, donations to our Restore, and prayers are always welcome.
